The Village Idiots Dominant in March to the Playoffs

Any opponent that sees the Village Idiots on their docket should double-check to be sure the game is not taking place on the second floor of the Julia Richman High School, because the V.I. has grown to love the spacious court and well-lit arena. Wednesday's matchup against "No Son of Mine" followed a familiar script.

The Idiots were led out of the gate by the veteran DKnip who connected on his first six attempts to total 14 of the squad's first 19 pts. He tallied 17 for the half, and only a lackluster team effort on defense kept the margin to a reasonable 32-23 at the break.

An inspired V.I. unit charged up the defensive effort and blew open the game early in the second act. Fueled by the Aceman sacrificing his body on both ends of the court, the Idiots overwhelmed their opponents by smothering them on one end and burying shot after shot on the other. Jay C, T, and TWebs all punished the Phil Collins fans by filling up the scoresheet from every angle. As has been the expected occurence in Village Idiots' contests lately, the game did not reach the final buzzer as the mercy rule was inflicted once again with the Idiots logging a 76-46 victory.

The final regular season game for the V.I. will be at Hunter H.S. (94th and Park) on Monday the 27th at 8:10... A win would lock up a 2 seed and set the first round playoff match at the Park West H.S. (50th bet 10th &11th) on Thursday 3/30 at 9:15...
