VI Wifey Amie Weber completed the 2009 NYC Marathon!!! Congrats to Amie and Burke Giblin, who also finished the race this year!!! _______________________________________________ John Stanley and Mike Zec ran the New York City Marathon again this November! Stanley made a triumphant return from injury to run in this year's event... and Zec broke his own VI record and tackled the 26.2 miles in 3 hours and 27 minutes!
_________________________________ With his father on the DL, Brian Stanley takes down the NYC Half-Marathon in under 2 hours, and gets some TV time while doing it!!!
The Summer Season kicked off with the Bellmore Striders Independence Day Run! Greg Gormsen captured the Men's Law Enforcement Division for the 2nd straight year, running a brisk 27:48 for the 4-Mile Race... very nice! _______________________________________________ We have come to the end of the Winter/Spring season and John Stanley has locked up another mileage crown... highlights of the season included Stanley leading 4 other Idiots in the Long Beach Snowflake 4-Miler, including Brigid McConnell in her first race with the VI... welcome Brigid! Gormsen, Walls, and JY also got back into the action on Long Island... Kate and Heather Hemsley kept things going with Knipscher, Zec, and newcomer Meredith DelBello on the Central Park circuit... Way to keep active during those cold winter months!!! More races coming this season...
__________________Congratulations to the Rick Gerard and John Stanley, who both ran in the 2007 NYC Marathon this year! It was another amazing day of fun on the Upper East Side!__________________The VI Summer'07 Running Season kicked off with the Long Beach City Managers 10 Mile Trophy Run - The V.I. Spring Mileage Champ John Stanley finished the race in 1 hr 29 min... nice work! The Gormsens joined the Knipper at the Independence Day 4-Miler... Greg Gormsen took first place in the Men's Law Enforcement Division with a 28:27! Congrats Gormpah!!!

For the Spring Season, each mile run in a V.I. endorsed race counted towards a chance at a prize package that includes tickets to sporting events and a number of newly released Village Idiots Sporting Goods! The Spring Mileage title went to John Stanley, who eclipsed 70 miles for the season... amazing!!!
