Fall '06 - Game 7 |
A big rebound game for the Village Idiots was exactly what they needed as the regular season hits the home stretch. A 42-13 win over the Hit Squad even with some key players sitting this one out. The Idiots now control their own fate in the playoff hunt... here's the highlights from Sunday's action: Offense BStan - 6 TD passes with (4) going to Oscar and (2) to Danny "sure hands" Ryan A crossing route TD pass to DRye of Brett Favre or Micheal Vick like proportions from BStan with some serious zip on it. Big blind side support from newcomer Brian Taylor and great protection all day for BStan who had the touch and zip on his passes like never seen before Drye also catching his longest TD pass since 2003 as he labors up the sideline only to be caught at the 10 yard line by the corner from the opposite side of the field Weber wisely left his cleats and shorts at home for you could tell he had the itch but we will need a healthy Tommy "Touchdown" for the final game against the Blazers Defense 3 INT's - (1) for BStan, DRye, Oscar Good D-Line pressure from Danny Morgan and Javier all day A quiet (mouth wise) game from J-Dubs which made for a harmonius feeling in the VI huddles Oscar with solid man coverage on the "Hit Squads" only offensive threat.
Village Idiots will need a win next Sunday in a crossover game (opponent to be determined) to keep pace with RC Dugans Blazers for the final playoff spot and setup what should be the game of the season as VI takes on Dugans Blazers for the right to play the top seeded Tornadoes in the playoffs.
