The Idiots Send Message in Big Win

The Julia Richman High School was the site of yet another key game in the Village Idiots' march to the playoffs. This time, playing on the second floor made all the difference as the V.I. took full advantage of the spacious headway and put a long-distance exhibition on at the expense of their opponents, Bella Lane Farms.

Jay C and the Greek appeared to be throwing beach balls in the ocean in the first half. Their sharpshooting helped the V.I. cruise to a 42-31 half-time lead. Bella Lane tried many defensive schemes, but were left to watch as the Idiots dominated on both ends of the court.

The late arrival of T only added to the ease with which the V.I. handled the team from the Bella Lane on this night. Shot after shot fell for the Idiots as the Farm boys had no choice but to watch as they fell further and further behind. The game was called with more than 3 minutes to go as the Idiots made it clear that they were not going to let up on the onslaught... a final margin of 76-52 left the Village Idiots with a record of 6-3, maintaining a solid lock on the four seed in the Skywalker Division.

The big question now is whether the Idiots will field a team for their next matchup... an ill-timed contest scheduled for 7pm on Friday, the 17th of March. For those of you keeping score at home, that is St. Patrick's Day. Whatever 5 players the V.I. can scrounge up, you can bet the smell of Irish Car Bombs will accompany them onto the floor. A true follower of the Idiots can only hope that their opponents fall victim to the tempations of the holiday as well!
