Tired Legs lead the Idiots to a Loss!

The Village Idiots entered Thursday night’s action on an 11 game regular season winning streak in the Urban Pro League. Trying to keep them from extending that streak were there Piranhas…
Things started out nicely for the VI, as they executed well on both ends of the court and opened up a double-digit lead in the early going, but some ridiculous sharp-shooting by the Piranhas kept them in the game and the Idiots’ lead was cut to 4 at the half…
A key development going into the second half was the growth of the Piranhas bench… they had a number of late arrivals and now had 9 men to choose from. In contrast, the Village Idiots were operating with only 1 man on the pine and fatigue was going to become a factor very quickly…
Between chasing the Piranhas’ shooters all over the court and battling for rebounds against fresh Piranha legs, the huffing and puffing was becoming obvious for the VI…
The Piranhas took and extended the lead mid-way through the 2nd half and never looked back. Every Idiot rally was answered by a big long-range jump shot or a clutch pair of free-throws…
In the end, the Piranhas knocked off the VI, 71-59.
