Giants ruin Cowboys Home Opener
By Mystery Reporter | September 21, 2009
The Giants went into Dallas and snuck out with a 33-31 victory, as they moved to 2-0 and moved into first place in the NFC East.
The Giants were uncharacteristically dominated in the trenches as the Cowboys shut down the Giants run game, and gashed the Giants defense for over 200 yards rushing. With the lines getting beat the Giants got huge games from the defensive backfield which produced 3 ints, and a TD on a pick six by Bruce Johnson.
Offensively, the Giants got huge games from WR’s Mario Manningham 10 catches 150 yards 1 TD and Steve Smith 10 catches 134 yards and 1 td. The Giants might have found their answers to the departure of Toomer and Burress. Eli had a very good game throwing for over 300 yards 2 TDs and no picks. He had plenty of time to throw, as the o-line shut down Demarcus Ware, and the vaunted Cowboy pass rush….
The banged up Giants defense took another blow as Justin Tuck went down in the second quarter with a shoulder injury.
The Giants go on the road to face the Buccanneers next week, as they go for a 3-0 start.
