Idiots continue to Impress; Now 8-3!
By VI Sports Insider | July 21, 2009
The Village Idiots softball team has totally redeemed themselves from their inaugural season. The Idiots set a new team best after recording two wins in one week to improve to 8-3 and find themselves right in the mix of things for the playoffs.
Wednesday night the Idiots took on the Inn II and found themselves down 2-0 after the top of the first. With the lineup recently en fuego, the first 5 Idiots at the plate ripped off five straight hits and combined with Danny “Ichiro” Hansen’s triple rallied to score 5 runs and take a 5-2 lead after one..
Pitcher Roy Vaccaro settled down and the Idiots continued to play excellent defense, even Joey Wesselhoft joined the party, to hold the Inn scoreless for the next five innings.
In the bottom of the third, Vaccaro Jr. cracked a 3-run homer to right-field to opening up the scoring a little. The homer was Bababooey’s third of the season, a team best. The Idiots would score three more runs in the next two innings for some insurance and a 11-2 lead. Vaccaro pitching well into the 7th would then give up a meaningless 3-run homer but the defense would bail him out again and hold on for the 11-5 win.
The Idiots scheduled game for this Friday has been postponed due to half the team going away for Steve Dewey Espo’s farewell extravaganza. No makeup date has been set but the game will be made up. The Village Idiots will put their 3 game win streak on the line next against No Limit Auto Body on Wednesday (7/29) at 9:30 pm.

I’ve been scouting Joey Boombah for years now and have never seen him make 2 plays in one game, 2+ errors but never 2 plays. Good job boombah, the scouts for the Union League are impressed.

Where are Shiels’s stats and what is Boombah’s batting average? Nobody cares about the rest of you clowns!
