Village Idiots Start ‘09 the Way they Finished ‘08!

Cold, wet, dreary, fast paced, and dominant, all things describing the season opener for the Village Idiots. The Idiots opened up their 2009 season against Team Union last night. Despite the non-June like weather everything else seemed to be the same for the Idiots in the Town of Hempstead Summer league. From the opening tip, which was tipped to Freddy “Fribble” Paul who then throw a beautiful alley-oop pass to Tommy “Technical” Casal who finished the play, you knew the Idiots meant business or as Jonathan the score keeper would call it, “TCB” taking care of business. The rest of the game was uneventful and looked more like a fast break drill for the Idiots who forced countless turnovers to the thanks of Timmy “Daddy” Byrnes, Fribble, and Frank “the Tank” Kelly.
On some other notes Greg “Goofy” Harrison extended his streak of games with a missed lay up to 10. Towards the end of the 1st half Casal swallowed a bug, was forced to come out and was able to cough the bug out on the sidelines. Beers flowed in parking lot with the compliment of CHEESEburgers and hotdogs made by Tommy “the Chef” Weber.
