VI Falls To Mulberry Street 15-8

After winning two straight, the VI softball squad fell to Mulberry Street by a count of 15-8, dropping their overall record to 3-2. Mulberry Street, led by this writer’s former Baldwin varsity baseball teammate Shaun Stuart, took an early 6-0 lead in the second inning and never looked back.
Bright spots on the VI side included home runs from TWebs and Greg and 3 for 3 efforts from Danny “Diesel” Hansen and Steve “Espo” Esposito…although Espo demonstrated his patented wipe out technique rounding first base on his second at bat. Not to be outdone, Joey “Dubya” Wesselhoft treated the crowd to an unassisted double play turned on him…as Mel Allen would say, “How about that!” Fortunately, the squad participated in a successful post game beverage session, also courtesy of Danny “Diesel” Hansen.
The Idiots’ next game is this Wednesday, June 10th at 8:20 against Minnesota’s…come down and support your Idiots
