Booey Does It All!!!

In one of the quickest 7 inning games ever played, the VI softball squad upped their record to 2-1 with a 2-1 victory over American Made last night in Long Beach. Roy “Booey” Vaccaro provided the spark on the mound and at the plate by pitching 4-hit ball and hitting his first home run of the season.
With the score tied 1-1 in the top of the 7th inning, Joey “Dubya” Wesselhoft led off the inning with a walk and advanced to second on a misplayed shot hit by Dan “Diesel” Hansen. George “Yablo” Walls moved the runners over on another fielder’s choice and Danny “DRye” Ryan drove in the winning run on a sacrifice fly. Booey retired the side 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 7th to secure the win.
Post game festivities commenced in the parking lot courtesy of Tommy “T Webs” Weber and his cooler full of liquid tastiness and a bag of Nathan’s French fries donated by Mr. Danny “UD” Hansen.
VI’s next game is May 27th at 8:20 against Swingbelly’s.
