VI Top 10 going into Week #13
By Mystery Reporter | November 24, 2008
1. Alabama - Only undefeated BCS team, no argument can be made against them at this point. 2 big ones left Auburn and Gators.
2. Oklahoma - The wasted Tech this weekend and are going to be tough.
3. Florida - Could be the best in the country, they’ll have their chance to prove it.
4. Texas - They are 1 dropped INT away from being #2
5. Penn State - One loss to Iowa stymies any chance they had.
6. USC - Should have never lost to Oregon State. Not enough on their schedule to comeback.
7. Utah - Shimmie!!! These guys win the tough MWC, and deserve a BCS bowl. Close win vs. Michigan has me nervous.
8. Boise State - Why not? They’re undefeated too!
9. Texas Tech - Murdered against Okla. Caught Texas at right time. No BCS Bowl for the Raiders. Wally almost got this one.
10. Ohio State - Why not? Did they pull Boeckman too early? These guys can play ball with anyone!

In my opinion, there are teams that deserve to be considered for the championship game in the big ten, 12, pac-10, sec, and mwc.
Unfortunately, cfb rankings are equated to the judgings of gymnastics and figure skating. What is an 8, and what is a 10? I don’t know. Guys in suits, sitting in a studio should not decide the fate of kids who have worked hard year round. The kids should, on the field.
With that said, the system is what it is. Bottom line is the best team should win it all, whether you are from the SEC, big ten, blah blah it does not matter. The best team period!!! Is Florida the best team? Alabama? Oklahoma? Penn State? Who knows. Week to week things change, kids get injured, someone is sick, etc. While that is not shown on ESPN, that matters.
It also matters when you play in tough conditions with tough opponents week in and week out. To say Florida is #2 and Penn State is #8 is ridiculous. The only team that is where it should be is Alabama, they are undefeated. We go by body of work, not potential, not running 70 points on the Citadel.
In fact, the case could be made for putting all the BIG 12 teams right behind Alabama, before Florida.Oklahoma lost to Texas (currently #2)Texas lost to Tx. Tech (currently #7)Tx. Tech lost to Oklahoma (currently #3 or 4) USC should not be 5, they lost to Oregon State, who got blown out by Penn State and barely lost to Utah. Florida and Penn State both lost to 8-4 teams, however, florida lost at home, and PSU lost away (both by margins of 1). I think that matters. Whether it was week 3 or week 8, should not matter, it does, but shouldnt, a loss is a loss. One could also argue about Utah and Boise, but the level of the competition they play hurts them.
