Big Country Covers the Spread - Week #4 Picks
By Big Country | September 19, 2008
Last week was more like it, and the picks rolled with a 5-1-1 record ATS. In honor of that run, we’re going to celebrate Big Country style, With what else? … Megan Fox 24/7 — All Megan Fox, All the time. Enjoy the photos. I do love this great game of football, so here we go…
(picks in Bold, home teams in CAPS)
Where have you gone Mr. Tebow? In Florida’s last couple games, Superman has been grounded (zero rushing TDs first 2 games). Did defenses figure something out on film? Could be a tough game for the Gators, but Tennessee has yet to impress. I mean c’mon rocky top, what are you hillbillies doing with a QB straight out of “Crompton.” Anyway, the best thing Tennessee should be known for is the birthplace of Megan Fox.
I think this will be a tough, hard fought game. The home team has won the last 4 contests between these two, and I’m expecting that trend to continue. Auburn’s offense looked horrible last week in their baseball-score 3-2 win over Miss State. However, word is that Tuberville is cracking the whip over there, and the team has been holding closed practices all week. Jordan-Hare stadium will be rocking! For LSU, they are the defending champs, but they start new QB Andrew Hatch, making his first road start in the SEC in a hostile environment.
Georgia fought hard last week against South Carolina, and was fortunate to come out with a win. Now the dawgs have to travel 2000 miles to play in 100 degree heat. Sounds like a recipe for disaster? Maybe. But the game is at night, and the Bulldogs should have enough time to get ready - they arrived in AZ today. Arizona State took a stomach-punch loss last week in overtime against UNLV. I expect them to have a bit of a hangover after that heartbreaker. Georgia is a better team, and should win this one big.
I just really hate Jimmy Clausen. Clausen should send a weekly letter thanking Brian Austin Green for staying alive, because if it wasn’t for B.A.G., Clausen would be the biggest douchebag on the planet. Speaking of David Silver, how the hell does he pull so much ass? Are you kidding me? Megan Fox, tell me he’s got you under hypnosis, or took blackmail photos of you after slipping roofies in your martini. Oh yeah, there’s a game here. If you don’t know Michigan State’s Javon Ringer yet, you will after this game. Ringer should be on everyone’s Heisman watchlist, and he has a big day rushing against a ND team that thinks it’s better than it is right now.
It is very tough to know exactly how good FSU is this early into the season. They jump into the top 25 after wins over Western Carolina and Chattanooga??? Meanwhile, Wake Forest has played real teams, with wins against underrated Ole Miss and Baylor. FSU starts Sophomore Christian Ponder, who didn’t exactly light up either of their creampuffs. On the other side, Wake has at QB the flamboyant one, Riley “Google image search me at your own risk” Skinner. Seriously, that’s his real middle name, look it up– but only at your own risk.
