Thank you to VillageIdiotSports for having me on the blog. Here I will breakdown the spread on a few college games. Just keep in mind that I’m no Brandon Lang, and if I do well, don’t expect me to be red-faced, screaming at your TV “I went 85% last week.. 85 PERCENT!!!!” I do love this great game of college football, so here we go….(Picks in Bold, home team in CAPS)

    OKLAHOMA -21.5 Cincinnati

Oklahoma’s offense looks even better this year, with the Sooners running the no-huddle. Cincinnati is missing starting QB Ben Mauk (appeal), and will start senior Dustin Grutza- whose name sounds more like a 5 star kicking recruit than a college QB. Grutza played only 2 games last year, and as a sophomore played poorly against quality opponents like Ohio State, Va Tech, and W Va. I expect him to struggle in Norman, and for the Sooners to put up a lot of points.

    Oregon State +15 PENN STATE

Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em, Penn State. Three Nittany Lions are suspended because of a pot bust, including 2 starters on defense. Too many distractions and too much reefer smoke to cover against Oregon State. Oregon State should stay within 2 TDs.

    WAKE FOREST -7.5 Ole Miss

Ole Miss starts good young QB Jevan Snead, who is surprisingly a white guy. Unfortunately for Ole Miss, Snead doesn’t play D (allowed 453 yds last week). For Wake, they start veteran QB Riley “I’m so gay I posted naked photos of myself on the internet” Skinner. This guy needs to get out of the closet, but his limp wrist will have enough against a poor Ole Miss defense.

    West Virginia -7.5 EAST CAROLINA

If you owned stock in East Carolina, now would be the time to sell. The purple pirates didn’t win so much last week because they are good, but rather because Va Tech is that bad. West Virginia still has Pat White, and their rushing attack should still be strong even without Steve Slaton. Even if this one gets sloppy, expect the Mountaineers to pour it on.

    FLORIDA -22.5 Miami (FL)

For Florida, Playmaker Percy Harvin (WR) and defensive captain Brandon Spikes (LB) should play. On offense, is Florida a running team now? 255 yds rushing vs 151 yds passing last week against Hawaii. Miami rolled against Charleston Southern last week *yawn*. “Big” wins against Big South doormats are like Britney Spears upskirt photos– expected and uninspiring.  Miami starts redshirt freshman QB Robert Marve, making his first ever college football start in the swamp. Good luck kid, you’ll need it against an improved gator defense.

    ARIZONA STATE -14 Stanford

I like the way Jim Harbaugh coaches, and it’s tough to go against anyone who was part of “The Superbowl Shuffle.” The fact is that Harbaugh got Stanford to play above its head last week in their win against Oregon St.  Stanford comes back to earth this week at ASU.  Look for a hot one with the gametime temp near 100. ASU runs it up on a winded Stanford, and Rudy Carpenter has a big day.

Nice spanks but may want to rethink the ECU pick. That game had upset special written all over it.
