    Belmont Stakes Predictions: Part 2

    By DanKnip | June 6, 2008

If you didn’t get a chance to see where I’m laying my money down in the early races on Saturday, check predictions for races 1-6 HERE… now I’ll fill you in on Races 7 through 13 at Belmont:Belmont-2007

Race 7 - John Velazquez rides another winner in this contest… taking it home with #5 - Criminologist… if you want to get a little nuts, throw in Garrett Gomez riding #4 - Ventura and Javier Castellano riding #3 - Bit of Whimsy, for a 5-4-3 Trifecta that will have you making a scene at the window when it’s time to collect

Race 8 - A Small field of Fillies in this one, doesn’t give us much of an opportunity to get creative, so stick with Todd Pletcher’s training, and throw a couple bucks on #3 - Game Face to win. Eibar Coa should be riding her into the lead early in this mile-long contest.

CurlinRace 9 - Things start to get pretty interesting around this time of day… the big names realize it’s time to put up or have to wait another 11 months for the Triple Crown atmosphere to showcase themselves… this race is loaded with veteran jockeys who will be putting these 3-yr olds to the test in this quick seven furlong race! Prado, Velazquez, and Gomez will be fired up and it will be a very exciting contest… 6-2-5 Trifecta is gonna get you paid in this one, with Fatal Bullet getting a nose on Ready’s Image and J Be K to snatch the $250K purse!

Race 10 - If you’ve been following along, you’ve had quite a few victory toasts on the day, so make sure you’ve put that cash in a safe place before your friends convince you to treat them all to a massage at the West Garden on the way home! The horse of choice in the tenth race is the oldest, #5 - Better Talk Now, ridden by Ramon Dominguez will make a big charge to sneak past the favorite #9 - Proudinsky at the wire. Box that 5-9 Exacta just in case the old guy can’t finish off the German horse ridden by J.R. Velazquez.Quarter-Horses

Race 11 - The Big One! I think we’re gonna finally see history, as Big Brown, running from Gate #1 will take his place among the greats. Throw your $2 on him to have your souvenir, but if you’re looking to make a little cash on this race, add #8 - Anak Nakal and #9 - Ready’s Echo to your Trifecta.

Race 12 - After the crowds clear out, you should have no trouble getting to the window to Box a 1-10 Exacta to make a little extra cash for the after-party.Cash-that-Ticket

Race 13 - At this point, you can’t believe you spent all your winnings buying Minute Maid Frozen Lemonades for every sundress that walked by, so you have one last chance to go home with some dough… Alan Garcia rides #4 - Winaway at some nice long odds in this contest, so saddle up one more time and Get That Money!

(Be sure you bought your round-trip train ticket in advance!)

Good Luck and enjoy the Races!!!
