Rangers up 3-1, no thanks to the Mystery Reporter, who is still 0-FER
By Mystery Reporter | April 17, 2008
Let’s touch on a few things before getting into the series details.
#1 - The French Dip at Houstons is out of this world. Allocco definetly knows his food, and I am looking forward to a possible trip to Zamboni’s this weekend.
#2 - I am a jinx. The Rangers cannot win if I am in attendance at the Garden. The trend continued when my boys dropped game #3 in overtime. My fellow Ranger fans and I agree that I will be watching the rest of the playoffs from where… Redemption! So far the Rangers are 3-0 when I at my new favorite watering hole. Drinks are a bit pricey, but once you see the bartenders, you’ll no why! WOW!!!
No let’s talk about the action on the ice! The Rangers and Devils split the two games at the Garden, much like Mike Zec split his 34″ waist Michael Coors pants at Redemption last night. Might be Karma for throwing a haymaker at Knip on Sunday after the game. Schmaa Doooo!
The Devils won 4-3 in overtime to cut the series deficit to 2-1 Sunday night. The Rangers bounced back and took a 3-1 series lead with a 5-3 win last night. Both games were very hard fought and even throughout.
Gomez continues to be a thorn in his former teams side, as he scored two goals last night. Rookie defensemen Marc Staal tallied the game winner with a big slap shot that beat Marty Brodeur with just about 3 minutes to play. Chris Drury and Marty Straka nothced the other 2 goals for NY. The Devils rallied from one goal deficits 3 times, but never could take the lead. Patrick Elias scored twice and Mike Mottau added the other goal for NJ.
The Rangers will look to close out the Devils on Friday in the brick city. Look for the Devils to play desperate! They won’t be an easy out.
