FINAL FOUR PREVIEW BABY!!!
By The Real McCoy | April 4, 2008
Some people are complaining that this years Final Four is boring…all I can say is are you freaking kidding me?! We have the four best teams playing each other in their sport. We have an ex-coach in Roy Williams going against his old team in Kansas. We have the fun & gun high octane Memphis Tigers going against defensive-oriented UCLA. All four of these teams have only lost a combined nine times and have never lost back to back games.
I don’t see any blowouts, these teams are too good and well coached. I’d be shocked if each game didn’t come down to the final shot or overtime. Each team also carries numerous NBA First Round draft picks from Memphis’s Derrick Rose to UCLA’s Kevin Love to Kansas’s Brandon Rush to North Carolina’s Tyler Hansborough. Personally I think you could flip coin and choose your winner but then that wouldn’t be too much fun, would it?
I told a friend recently that if these two teams played each other and my house caught on fire I’d race to the closest bar and finish watching the game before calling the Fire Department. That’s how much I’m dying to see this game. I think these are the two best teams that’s why I consider this the real National Championship. I love watching both of them play. It’s like your two favorite porn stars FINALLY doing a scene together.
I don’t see much defense being played as they both love to run & gun and launch three’s. They both have big men who bang under the boards and guards who constantly push the ball up and down the court at ferocious speeds. They’re even on all cylinders minus one thing: coaching. Roy Williams of Carolina has been here before and this is Kansas coach Bill Self’s first Final Four. That’s why I give a slight edge to Carolina in a game not to be missed! NC 81 KU 78
You can’t ask for two more contrasting styles. Memphis has been disrespected throughout the tourney so they’ve been taking their anger out on their oppenents. Just ask Michigan State and Texas who both got blown out to the Tigers by 18 points. UCLA meanwhile has been dodging more bullets than Dirty Harry. They looked good against Xavier but that’s like saying I looked good in my last game of H-O-R-S-E against my five-year old nephew. Remember, UCLA lost to Texas by two and Memphis just blew them out of their own state. UCLA has had too many close calls and I think their luck ends here. Memphis 64 UCLA 59
