Tight Race for the NHL Playoffs… and for the PBR’S?

    By Mystery Reporter | February 25, 2008

For all the Hockey fans out there (especially in the tri-state area), you’re in for one hell of season finale.  With roughly 20 games left on everyones’ schedule only, only 11 points seperate the eastern conference 6th through 14th place teams.

All three tri-state area teams are in the thick of things. The New Jersey Devils currently hold the #1 seed with 79 points. The Rangers are in the 6th spot at the moment with 72 points and the upstart Islanders are 10th with 67 points. All three teams have also been heating up. The Devils have a 5 game winning streak and are 7-1-2 in their last 10 games. The Rangers are 6-2-2 over their last 10 games, and got a big 2 wins this weekend. The Isles are 6-3-1 and just had a long win streak snapped.

With many head to head games still remaining, most playoff slots remain up for grabs.

Die hard Islander fan, Pete “Allock of the week” seems to have a strangle hold on the wagers he made with Blueshirts fans GC and Mikey Z. Mike and GC spotted Pete 20 & 19 points respectively. It doesn’t look good for the good guys!!!! Mike also has an additional bet with Pete in the head to head games. The Isles currently hold a 3-1 advantage with 4 games to play. I think Mike will win this one…  Either way many PBR’s will be changing hands!!!

Bottom line is hold on to your seats boys, it’s going to be a wild ride over the next few weeks. I will return later this week with more Rangers action, and a good ripping of Pete and his Isles, as I sense they will begin to slide out of the playoff picture.

    LET’S GO RAN–GERS!!!

After signing the two biggest names in the free agent market, I didn’t realize being in the 6th spot was reason to celebrate…

In the end, the Isles will probably go down as a scrappy squad that needs a little seasoning, while the blue shirts will just go down as a bunch of overpaid, underachieving losers…

      Good day!
